Lužánky run
The Lužánky race is one of the oldest runs in the Czech Republic. It has been held since 1946. It continues the pre-war tradition of Brno’s endurance athletes and their competitions.

Excerpt from a newspaper article in 1946
….On a cold Sunday morning, athletes, soldiers and scouts from various parts of Brno converged on Lužánky to participate in the raising of the national flag and kick off the Brno athletes’ season. The 250 soldiers, 150 athletes and 100 scouts were addressed by univ. prof. dr. Vojta, chairman of the Brno athletes, and chairman of the Provincial National Committee dr. Loubal, who donated a travel prize to the main race. The main race, which measured three laps of 1630 m, fell to the favored Šalý….
